Brunswick School & Greenwich Academy to present Kiss Me, Kate
(Greenwich, CT – February 25, 2008) – Cole Porter’s delightful comedy
Kiss Me, Kate will be performed by Brunswick School and Greenwich Academy students on Friday,
February 29 at 7:00 PM and on Saturday, March 1 at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM in the Massey
Theater, Wallace Performing Arts Center at Greenwich Academy.
Kiss Me, Kate tells the tale of two once-married, now-divorced musical theater actors—Fred
Graham and Lilli Vannessi—who are performing opposite each other in the roles of Petruchio
and Kate in a musical version of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew.
Already on poor terms, the pair begins an all-out emotional war mid-performance that threatens
the production's success. The only thing keeping the show together are threats from a pair of
gangsters, who have come to collect a gambling debt from the show's Lucentio, Bill Calhoun.
In classic musical comedy fashion, slapstick madness ensues before everything is resolved.
Memorable musical numbers include “Why Can’t You Behave,” “So In Love Am I,” ”Too Darn Hot”
and “Another Op’nin’.”
Performances: Friday, February 29 at 7:00 PM and Saturday, March 1 at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM
in the Massey Theater at Greenwich Academy’s Wallace Performing Arts Center, 200 North Maple Avenue.
Tickets are available at for $10 each.
