PERFORMING ARTS AT GA
The performing arts have been an essential component of a Greenwich Academy education, but a renewed enthusiasm for the dance, drama and music programs was created by the opening of the new Wallace Performing Arts Center (PAC). The center's 400-seat theater has technologically advanced sound and lighting systems, a large scenery shop and a costume shop with natural light sewing rooms and computerized storage facilities.

The Black Box is a smaller studio theater, with computerized sound and lighting, and a sprung floor for dance productions. The already existing dance studio has recently been redesigned as well.

The PAC has expanded the music program at GA. Its new MIDI music technology labs allow students to experiment with computerized sound, and the new music rooms are specifically designed to enhance the acoustical quality of choral performances.

The state-of-the-art sound and lighting technology in the PAC creates unparalleled opportunities for students to learn advanced behind-the-scenes aspects of theatrical and dance production. The computerized box office introduces students to the intricacies of theater (or any other type of) management.

Above all, GA's arts programs impress upon students the myriad skills they need to develop in order to work with others toward a common goal. Click here for more information on drama productions at GA.
