Daedalus
is GA's award-winning literary and
arts magazine. It is a celebration of all the talented artists and
writers in the school. The editors and staff solicit writing for
Writer-of-the-Month contests from September through March. All submissions
are read anonymously and chosen by the entire staff. Beginning during
spring break, the senior and junior editors make final decisions
about writing and art, and they produce the issue, which is distributed
to the entire Upper School at the end of May. Over the last 15 years,
Daedalus has earned some of the highest national awards
given to literary magazines from both the National Council of Teachers
of English and the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.

Greenwich
Academy Press (GAP) is GA's
school newspaper. Produced by students from all four grades in the
Upper School, led by a board of senior editors, the newspaper is
published monthly and covers events ranging from students’ artistic and athletic achievements to global issues. Meeting with
their reporters twice a week, the editors assign articles, edit
them with staff writers, and design and lay out the pages using InDesign. Juniors and seniors attend journalism conferences
throughout the school year and during the summer, including the
Columbia Journalism Conference in the fall. Issues are submitted
each year to Quill and Scroll’s News Media Evaluation, where
for many years the paper has won the International Award for Substantial
Achievement. For information about GAP, see the Greenwich
Academy Press web site or contact
