GREENWICH ACADEMY LIBRARIES

Group V students conducting library researchGreenwich Academy offers students and faculty a comprehensive program of library and media services in two facilities, the David Wallace Library for students PC through Group IV and the Middle and Upper School Library for Groups V through XII. The goals of the library program are to provide a context for research and study skills for students, to provide access to material that will support the curriculum and to encourage reading and independent learning as life long activities.

The print collections of the two libraries number approximately 20,000 volumes. Access to a broad range of information sources is provided through web-based reference sources such as Britannica Online, the New York Times and a comprehensive periodicals database. Each library subscribes to appropriate periodicals and newspapers and maintains back holdings. SIRSI Unicorn provides the online catalogue for our libraries.

Families are encouraged to use the Academy libraries. There is an active program for parent volunteers and new books and class projects are on display. Both libraries are designed to be reading centers for the school community. Donations honoring students or teachers are always welcome, especially during Parents' Nights in the fall and Books in Bloom, the annual spring book fair.
